In a bid to promote the development and recognition of quality instructional resources, select Key Stages 1 and 2 teachers and Alternative Learning System (ALS) educators from the Department of Education (DepEd) Toledo City gathered for the division orientation-workshop on the implementation of Project SHARE on Saturday, July 12, at the CEBECO III Function Hall, Sangi, Toledo City.

An initiative of the Curriculum and Learning Management Division (CLMD) of DepEd Region 7, Project SHARE—Selecting, Harvesting, Acknowledging, and Rewarding Excellent instructional resources—aims to ensure teachers and learners have access to high quality, contextualized, and innovative instructional plan (iPlan).

Mr. Geraldo Laña, Education Program Supervisor (EPSvr) in Science, said in his session that a projected total of 2,688 iPlans is expected to be produced across all divisions in Region 7. These will be distributed among 12 schools divisions, with DepEd Toledo City assigned to develop Grade 1 Quarter 4 iPlans for GMRC, Mathematics, Language, Reading and Literacy, and Makabansa, which will be used regionwide once the quality is assured by December 2025.

As part of the project, teacher-writers are tasked to create iPlans by selecting and harvesting competencies from the curriculum guides and existing lesson exemplars. Initially, the project covers Grades 1, 4, and 7, in alignment with the phased implementation of the MATATAG Curriculum, which began with these grade levels last school year.

“You are carefully selected by your school heads and supervisors to be part of this humble undertaking. You are somehow soldiers being sent to a mission—to help all the teachers here in DepEd Toledo and most of all to the teachers of the entire region 7,” Dr. Ma. Kenneth S. Nengasca, Curriculum Implementation Division Chief, said as she reminded the important role of the teacher-writers in the success of Project SHARE.

“You are heeding the call of the Department of Education Region 7 to prepare the lessons in Grade 1, quarter 4,” Nengasca added.

As Project SHARE emphasizes rewarding excellent instructional resources, best lesson plan writers per quarter will be recognized through the iPOWER Awards (Instructional Planning and Outstanding Work in Education Recognition) set for December 2025.

The learning area supervisors—EPSvr in Mathematics, Dr. Ricardo Bahena; EPSvr in Values Education, Dr. Carmen Ramos; EPSvr in Araling Panlipunan, Dr. Delia Mabao; and EPSvr in English, Mrs. Jesyl Ruiz—were also present during the workshop, leading the assignment of specific competencies per subject area to the designated teacher-writers.

The select teachers will convene once more in August for the development and finalization of the assigned iPlans.
