In celebration of dedication and excellence, a total of 190 teaching and non-teaching staff from DepEd Toledo City were honored for their exemplary service during the Bulawanong Pagsilak Awards held on February 10, 2025, at the Toledo City Sports Center in Sangi, Toledo City.

Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Faustino Toradio led the awarding ceremony, joined by Dr. Ma. Kenneth Nengasca, Curriculum Implementation Division (CID) Chief; Mr. Basilio Obensa Jr., Federated Parent-Teacher Association (FPTA) President, and Mr. Mharl Christian Garciano, FPTA Vice President.

Now in its year three, the Bulawanong Pagsilak Awards recognized outstanding employees across seven categories:

• Silak Program Implementer Award (19 recipients)

• Silak Teacher and Non-Teaching Personnel – Individual Category (18 recipients)

• Loyalty Service Award – Retirees (53 recipients)

• Loyalty Service Award for Active Employees with 25, 30, or 35 years of service (50 recipients)

• Career Executive Service Written Examination (CESWE) Passers (2 recipients)

• Contributors to Recognition as Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Providers (13 recipients)

“Commitment, passion, and perseverance are the driving forces of excellence, creating a lasting impact and contributing to a greater purpose,” ASDS Dr. Toradio said.

The Office also presented Posthumous Awards to honor the unwavering service of deceased DepEd employees, with their families receiving the recognition.

Additionally, schools were acknowledged for their efforts in implementing DepEd programs, policies, and initiatives, with awards given for:

• Active Participation in the National Learning Camp’s Remedial Classes (8 schools)

• Complete and Prompt Submission of School MOOE Liquidation Reports for CY 2024 (20 schools)

• Complete and Prompt Submission of Financial Reports for CY 2024 (6 schools)

In a virtual address, Dr. Salustiano Jimenez, Regional Director of Region VII, emphasized that the celebration highlights excellence, dedication, and passion that extend beyond the classroom and impact the entire community.

Also in a pre-recorded message, Dr. Joseph Irwin Lagura, Schools Division Superintendent of Toledo City, congratulated the awardees.

“Your work and job that makes you outstanding is an effort to be duplicated. Continue to fulfill tasks and duties that help develop life-long learners,” Dr. Lagura said.

Anchored by the Civil Service Commission’s Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence (PRAISE), the annual ceremony celebrates the superior accomplishments, meritorious contributions, and innovative ideas of DepEd teaching and non-teaching personnel in achieving the Division’s goals and objectives.
